What to do and what to see:

San Diego has been called “America’s Finest City,” located along the mighty Pacific Ocean in extreme southern California, and the area has an astounding variety of attractions for every kind of visitor. With seventy miles of beaches, sun worshippers worldwide are drawn to this area for surfing, swimming, and water sports. One of the largest naval fleets in the world is moored here, and ship-lovers can visit historic exhibits at the USS Midway Museum on the Navy Pier, or the Maritime Museum of San Diego in the San Diego Bay. For continued water exploration, tourists can hop aboard the Coronado Ferry for a shopping excursion to the peninsula of Coronado. Children of all ages will enjoy Belmont Park, the city’s only beachfront amusement park, as well as Legoland California, just 30 minutes north of San Diego. Quite a few museums can be found in the city, including several cultural delights located in the 1200-acre urban Balboa Park. Artists frequent San Diego, as evidenced by the many exhibits and galleries housed here, and musicians of every caliber can take in the opera, the symphony, and all genres of concerts. For outdoor adventure lovers, the coast, canyons and hills of San Diego provide opportunities for rafting, kayaking, sailing, mountain biking, sport fishing, skydiving and indoor rock climbing. Sports hounds can catch the Padres for baseball, the Chargers for American Football, and other professional leagues including rugby, soccer, and basketball.
