Pershing Square

Pershing Park

Location: Los Angeles, United States, North America

Best time to visit: year round

What to do and what to see:

Located deep in the heart of bustling downtown Los Angeles, travelers will enjoy a stroll through Pershing Square. Utilized as an outdoor concert and event venue, a wide variety of free community events are held at the park, just one-square-block in size. The facility received a multi-million dollar facelift in 1992, and re-opened in 1994 to include a concert stage, a seasonal ice skating ring, and contemporary artists’ renditions of famous California symbols. An ultra-modern water fountain and 120-foot high purple tower grace the center of the park, and tourists can enjoy art shows, Friday night movies, lunchtime concerts and youth programs free of charge. Currently this area is still the focus of revitalization efforts by the city, but the temperate weather of southern California lends itself to a stroll through Pershing Park any time of the year.
