The fashion heart of New York

Location: New York, United States, North America

Best time to visit: spring summer fall

What to do and what to see:

Art, architecture, shopping and dining are just a few experiences to be had in New York’s SoHo, which is short for the area’s location, “South of Houston” Street in New York City. Plan to bring along an extra suitcase (or two!) for all of the high-end or bargain-basement shopping deals you’re sure to find, and plan to leave plenty of space on the digital camera for photos of the eclectic historical buildings. Access is easy, via subway, water taxi, Long Island Rail or New Jersey Transit, and the area’s varied restaurants, museums and theaters add to its unique charm. Wear comfortable shoes to experience SoHo’s cobblestone streets on foot, up close and personally. Walking tours are offered by several companies, and the famed Greenwich Village, Little Italy and Chinatown are just a few blocks away. Fall is a great time to visit SoHo, and along with sightseeing you can plan to cross a few items from your holiday shopping list in this lively, fun-filled destination.
